Evening Fun

The boys and I were supposed to be spending the evening at Lowry Park Zoo for summer safari nights but it was cancelled due to inclement weather. Since the boys and I were out and about we decided to stop at Lettuce Lake Park and explore. We had a lot of fun. It was a quiet evening with very few people on the boardwalk. The boys had so much fun and can't wait to go back. Next time we hope to explore with daddy and see alligators.

For the Love of Crib!

What is happening in Zane's world you all may be asking. He is quite a busy kid. Let me tell you. He goes to music class once a week. He has speech therapy once a week. He plays outside nearly every chance he gets. He loves spending time with his friends Noah, Isaac and Ian.

Oh and yea..........his mommy is trying to have him give up the crib and sleep in the big boy bed with Trey.

This picture what I am working toward for the night time!

This is a much harder thing than I anticipated. Evan and Trey were not crib babies. They coslept. Zane coslept but after nursing he went to the crib and preferred it to mommies bed. The crib has been a wonderful place for Zane. He loves his sleep time. He never once tried to climb out of the crib. He wakes up in the morning and just plays until he is taken out........he loves his crib. But mommy thinks he is getting too big for the crib. He will be three in August. Isn't it about time to leave the crib nest!

Zane thinks not! He is being "forced" to nap in the big boy bed(the full bed Trey sleeps in and eventually his room and bed as well). He cries out that this is "Tey Tey's" bed. He cries out to sleep with mommy(the crib is in my room so he thinks he sleep with me). Eventually he falls asleep in the big boy bed but oh boy........what an ordeal. I am a nurturer so crying it out is not an option.

SHHHH.....don't tell him this but when we get back from the beach at the end of the month.....no more crib! DH will have taken it down....it will mysteriously disappear. Oh boy.....I can't wait to see that reaction.

Epcot

Monday was Epcot Day! DH had never been. The boys were excited to experience something new with daddy. The boys had a great time at the park. Evan and Trey loved going to all the countries and seeing another world. I just may have world travelers in the making. Oh how fun that would be! DH on the other hand did not quite enjoy the park. He thought it was kinda boring. He had a hard time seeing it from a kids point of view. I think he was just being an old fuddy duddy that day and should give it another chance. He probably won't though so the boys and I will trek to this park by ourselves another day. There is still so much we did not get to see and do. The boys gave the park a thumbs up.

Bicycling

We(the family) went bike riding this morning at Flatwoods Park. DH wanted to test out a new heart rate gadget he bought while mommy and the boys wanted a leisurely, fun ride. I used to roller blade along Flatwoods....prechildren. Also, DH and I used to bike ride as a childless couple. Oh back in the days when time meant nothing.

Anyway...the loop is seven miles. Evan is a great bike rider and rode without any complaints. Trey on the other hand. Well...let's just say he is learning how to ride a bike without training wheels. So his confidence is not quite there so we let him ride the loop with training wheels on. Have you ever tried riding seven miles in the Florida heat on training wheels. It takes much energy. I am very proud of him though. He rode the seven miles like a trooper with only minor complaints. He enjoyed the scenery and looking for wildlife. He saw a scorpion at one of the water breaks. He was thrilled and talked about if for at least two miles. Zane rode in the trailer and enjoyed the ride in high style.

Oh yea I almost forgot to mention..............
Do you see something new, shiny and purplish in the pictures? Yes....you guessed it .......my new bike. That is my birthday/Mother's Day present from my wonderful boys. . My bday was in May. I am sorry I forgot to mention it and the gift earlier. But do I really want to myself out there like that....NO!

Zoo Day #5

Evan had a day off from school and Trey is done with preschool so off to the zoo we went. It was slightly more crowded than most days considering it was Memorial Day but not overly crowded. Thus a good zoo day! The sloth was out again. I really like this animal!

The weather was warm so the boys(along with the Borland boys)enjoyed splashing in the cool water!

And here are other zoo pics I thought were cute!

End Of Year Splash

Trey had his end of year splash party at preschool on Thursday. I am not sure who had more fun....Amy and myself or Trey and Ewan. As you can see we are pretty wet. I blame it all on those pesky little 5 year olds. They are ruthless with water guns.

Trey seemed to have so much fun with the water slide. It was hard getting him off. He loves flopping, sliding and jumping.
