I have won an award from my middle child, Trey. Many of you will say that they have also received this award. Others are not as fortunate as the rest of us. You have not been given this prestigious award. But I assure the latter group. One day your time will come.
So what is my award I am so proudly talking about....................................(scroll below for the answer)...........................
"The Meanest Mother" Award and not only this one but another as well...............................
"The Worst Mother Ever" Award!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes.....my child gave me two awards for the price of one. All because I gave him corn on the cob for dinner. Shoot me now.....I did really deserve this award.
I know he was really angry and did not mean these words but it still stings. Only I can't show him it hurt. I did tell him the words hurt after he calmed down. But little that did. Oh how the words flowed so easily from his precious lips that once suckled at my breast. Hah........those times are over and the Hydock household has moved on. Put me out of my misery now if things get worse during puberty.

Awww, poor Jen. I thought "you're not my friend" was bad enough. Not looking forward to the older years. LOL. Take comfort in knowing that you are a WONDERFUL mom and he'll benefit from your calm approach to his comments. I STILL remember my mom replying with things like "well, I'm sorry that you are upset right now, but I'll ALWAYS love you, even though I might not always like the way you are acting". ((((HUGS)))
I guess you're doing your job right then Jen. LOL
Aww!! You're right, every mother will eventually get this award. I've already gotten the "I HATE YOU!" award. So much fun. I think I immediately started sobbing! LOL
You're one of the best moms I know! This award can only mean one thing. You're doing your job right!!
I have a "piece of flair" on my facebook account that describes this situation perfectly. It says, "Mean Moms have Good Kids." Take comfort in that.
